Are you thinking about starting a cleanse? Then this post is for you!
I want you to be super successful, so let’s set you up the right way! Here are my top 3 tips to know before your start your cleanse!
1. GET THE BAD OUT
Start eliminating alcohol, coffee, sugar, dairy and gluten so that you have an easier time with fewer withdrawal symptoms. If you’re worried about headaches from caffeine withdrawal, green tea is an excellent replacement while you’re transitioning. Also, it’s important to know that the first 3-5 days are the hardest in terms of withdrawal and cravings. Once you get past the first week, it will be much easier!
2. PUT THE GOOD IN
Focus on including more fruit and veggies, and switching over to a more plant-based diet so the liver can focus on detoxing. Why plant-based? Ok, first take note that I said *more* plant-based – not that you have to do it 100%.
Here’s the thing – fat and protein make it harder for the liver to detox. Yes, we need some fat and protein, but let’s just take a look at the average person… Most of us are consuming way too much! We need to be focusing on fruits and veggies!
3. CREATE A SUPPORT PLAN
Talk to your family and friends about how they can support you during your program. Maybe you and a friend might want to do it together so that you have someone to support you, help meal prep, and share recipes with. You may also want to consider having a conversation with your partner about not bringing junk food into the house, or eating it in front of you if you feel like that would be a temptation or cause you some emotional upset.
